What is the Al-Noor Annual Boat Race
The Al-Noor Annual Boat Race is an event which is being established by the Al-Noor Foundation this Summer, at Fairlop Waters in the London Borough of Redbridge on Saturday 23rd June 2018.
The event is open to all schools, faith groups, charities and corporate organisations. The event aims to unite the community whereby individuals, families and organisations have the opportunity to raise money for charitable causes which are close to their hearts, by simple registering for a boat and participating in the race.
Why a Boat Race?
Boat races are part of the great heritage of British culture and an amazing way to unite both competitors and communities together behind a common cause. Dragon Boat racing is something which is growing in popularity in the UK, originating from Southern China’s Guangdong Province.
The boats we will be using can accommodate up to 17 riders at a time and will be provided by a specialist Dragon Boat company which the Foundation has partnered up with to run the event.
How can I get involved?
If you are part of a registered UK charity organisation, or want to help any of the charities which will be taking part in the event, all you need to do is register a boat in their name through our on-line registration page and start fundraising.
