This year's focus for Islam Awareness Week (6th February- 10th February 2017) was Islam and the Curriculum.

Each class focused on subject matter and its significance in Islam and Muslim contributions to specific subjects covered across the National Curriculum.

Year 5 pupils welcomed pupils from local schools throughout the week to view the school's Exhibition, introducing them through a short presentation on Islam. They engaged with our visitors at stalls, each presenting the work of a class, answering questions and discussing the work. Pupils were also given the opportunity to take part in a lively Q&A session where they could ask any question they could think of about Islam to get some reliable answers to a much misunderstood faith.

The event highlighted the thirst of children to learn about their own faiths and those of others, and think about answers to life's most important questions and those posed by events around them. It also allowed pupils from all schools to engage with each other in an atmosphere of mutual respect and friendship, whilst appreciating the faith and belief of the other.

A big thank you to the school who visited us and took the time to make a trip to visit our exhibition and new school. We very much enjoyed receiving you and look forward to seeing you again next year!b2ap3_thumbnail_Sports.JPGb2ap3_thumbnail_DT.JPGb2ap3_thumbnail_History.JPGb2ap3_thumbnail_Maths.JPGb2ap3_thumbnail_Art.JPGb2ap3_thumbnail_Lit-and-Journalism.JPG
