But that merely increased their faith and they said, "Allah is enough for us and the Best of Guardians." So they returned with blessings and bounty from Allah and no evil touched them. They pursued the pleasure of Allah. Allah's favor is indeed immense. (Surah Al ‘Imran, 173-174)

This year's focus for Islam Awareness Week (2nd March - 6th March) was Muslims in Britain. Each class focused on professional role models who are Muslims in a variety of vital public service industries and how they contribute, ranging from policemen and sportsmen through to university professors and engineers. They also focussed on the importance of the industry itself within Islamic teaching and history.

Year 5 pupils welcomed pupils from local schools throughout the week to view the school's Exhibition, introducing them through a short presentation on Islam. They engaged with our visitors at stalls, each presenting the work of a class, answering questions and discussing the work. Pupils were also given the opportunity to take part in a lively Q&A session where they could ask any question they could think of about Islam to get some reliable answers to a much misunderstood faith.

The event highlighted the thirst of children to learn about their own faiths and those of others, and think about answers to life's most important questions and those posed by events around them. It also allowed pupils from all schools to engage with each other in an atmosphere of mutual respect and friendship, whilst appreciating the faith and belief of the other.

A big thank you to all the schools who took the time to make a trip to visit our exhibition and school. We very much enjoyed receiving you!
