New Primary School Eases Pressure on School places

Al-Noor Foundation Proposal for VA Primary Successful

Redbridge, September 8, 2015– Al-Noor Foundation is delighted at the decision taken by Redbridge Cabinet  to establish a new VA Primary School In Green Lane, Goodmayes. The school will provide 420 additional new school places and will go a long way to easing the shortage of primary school places. The proposals to establish the school had attracted strong community support with over 400 representations.

Sadiq Kothia a Trustee of Al-Noor Foundation said “This is the culmination of a lot of hard work and co-operation from all parties. The New school will fulfill our aspiration of joining the family of Redbridge schools and at the same time greatly assist our Local Authority to ease the pressure and burden of school places.”

“Our co-operation to make available our land and the Local Authorities willingness to work together enabled the partnership to succeed. We are very grateful to our Local Authority and in particular Children’s Services and Councillors across all parties that have been supportive, in particular Cllr. Elaine Norman for her leadership within the department. “We also recognise the roles played by Cllr. Alan Weinberg and former Cllr.Shoaib Patel who originally set the wheels in motion.”

The New School will open in September 2017 and we are looking forward to working closely with all partners towards achieving  the Al-Noor vision to have a Redbridge where individuals, families and communities work together to ensure a just, responsible and compassionate society.
