Annual Funday - 2004

The first Al-Noor Family Funday took place on Sunday 18th July 2004 at Melbourne Fields, Valentines Park, Ilford. The day was a wonderfully uplifting day where all the community joined together to enjoy themselves and at the same time raise over £30,000 for the School. We estimate that something in the region of 5000 people attended the event.

The event took shape over many months and needed numerous hands to help it succeed, many Muslim Businesses helped to support the event, amongst them were: Saracens Utilities, Kebabish, Luggage House, Property Lettings, Islamic Relief, Taqwa Carpets, Qibla Cola and Al-Badr Gym to name but a few.

Bumper Cars, bouncy castles, a Sisters Marquee incorporating hairdressing, massaging and barbecues were the order of the day and enjoyed by all who attended. Indeed the positive responses we have received have been particularly pleasing for the School. Many stating that they very much enjoyed the whole atmosphere and the feel of the event.

Many of those who attended became "Friends of Al- Noor" by signing up to regular long term standing orders, this was greatly appreciated.

All in all, the event was a big success in every way, Bi-ithnillah!
