Who are we?

Al-Noor Muslim Primary is a young, successful, independent Muslim school, located on the edge of East London in Ilford. Our vision, values and ethos are informed by Islam and our conviction in inevitable success and gain through its adherence. We aim for excellence in the moral, educational and professional dimensions of school life.

We currently have 175 pupils from Reception class to year six in our one-form entry, co-educational school. Our curriculum consists of the UK National Curriculum, imbibed and supplemented with Qur’anic, Arabic and Islamic Studies. We are a thriving school, gaining registration first-time round and scoring significantly higher than national average in national assessments and tests year on year.

We believe that schools, like all institutions, are the products of working partnerships between their member bodies and are therefore only as effective as the level of member-cohesion and member-sharing of a common vision and the values that inform that vision. Faith-based schools are founded on an unequivocal platform of values on which all school partners sit. We believe this is why they form strong institutions and successful schools.

We believe that Al-Noor Primary is a model for other communities to be inspired and motivated by, it is a testimony to the great deal communities can achieve for themselves when they strive together for a worthy, common cause.

Our recent Ofsted inspection found:

"Al-Noor provides its pupils with a good education and caters effectively for their needs. The quality of the curriculum and of teaching is good"

"the pupils become confident and articulate learners who are enabled by their teachers to make good progress."

"The emphasis placed on the spiritual and moral aspects of their education... across the curriculum, leads to pupils' growing understanding of right and wrong and how a good Muslim should live."

"...good quality provision for preparing pupils to live in a multi-cultural society... opportunities for discussions with people from other faiths in ways that promotes respect, tolerance and harmony."

"...provision for the pupil's welfare health and safety is good... A safe, healthy and nurturing environment has been created for the pupils."

"Teachers are good role models and lead by example...both parents and pupils are happy with the school"
